• Executive Meddling: When writer James Duff returned to the franchise years later as a producer on Star Trek: Discovery, he revealed that the episode's ending had been heavily altered from its original Both Sides Have a Point emphasis to one where Ryan was depicted as being clearly in the wrong, as both UPN and executive producer Rick Berman had a policy that the main characters (and especially Archer) should not be depicted in a negative light.
