• Approval of God: Sonic composer Jun Senoue sent KgZ an email praising his work on the soundtrack.
• Promoted Fanboy: Falk was a fan of the fan game, and would eventually help compose the soundtrack. Funnily, he stated that the name for the Sunset Star Boss theme (Creature of Nightmare), was based on him sucking at the boss.
• What Could Have Been:
  • According to the official upload description of "Flying High", Cloudy Crowd's music was planned to an light/airy trance music, which went to Horizon Heights instead, with Cloudy Crowd instead getting orchestral music in the final.
  • The 2012 version wasn't meant to include any custom music at-all until LakeFeperd was approached by KgZ who wanted to do some work on the soundtrack.
  • Almost all music in the 2012 (except for "Breathtaking Vision") was planned to be replaced following the agreement, but time constraints meant that only stage themes could be replaced, with the cutscenes, special stages, menus and even two bosses still using the 2011 soundtrack.
