- Franchise Killer: The fifth game's underwhelming reception and controversies around its DRM scheme caused it to sell far below expectations. Combined with big-budget PC exclusives no longer being viewed as commercially viable, and the series' gameplay not being seen as a good fit for consoles, it resulted in the series being shelved, and (along with poor sales of H.A.W.X. 2) caused developers Ubisoft Bucharest to be relegated to being a support studio.
