- Hide Your Pregnancy: Billie Piper was pregnant during filming of the second series. It wouldn't make much sense to have a pregnancy written in, so they instead put her in unflattering and baggy dresses, and used body doubles for the more intimate scenes. It is actually quite noticeable if you know to look for it.
- Real Song Theme Tune: The theme song is an excerpt of "You Know I'm No Good" by Amy Winehouse. The song runs whilst the intertitle plays, showing Belle applying make-up and getting dressed, interspersed with shots of urban London.
- What Could Have Been: When Showtime acquired the syndication rights for Secret Diary of a Call Girl, they originally planned on remaking the show for an American audience. However, Showtime's president of entertainment, Robert Greenblatt, chose to air Secret Diary of a Call Girl since it considered it to be "fantastic" and cited the lack of American actresses willing to do nudity.
