- Recycled Script: There are some elements that are pretty similar to Are You Terrified Yet?. Both of them have no supernatural elements, and end with a double twist everything is a prank, then it's real, then it's a prank again. They were also both played by the protagonist, who were scaredy cats for most of the book.
- It is also like Fright Camp, as both involve a horror director and eventually the kids get to prank him back. Although in this case the jerk director doesn't win in the end.
