  • Sequel Gap: The sequel came out in 1954, 15 years after the original story's release.
  • What Could Have Been: Robert L. May written a manuscript for "Rudolph's Second Christmas" that was planned as the official sequel to Rudolph. But shelved the idea in 1949 possible due to finding the story not as satisfying. Instead he written "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer Shines Again" which became the official sequel to the original story from 1939. "Rudolph's Second Christmas" wouldn't get discovered until his daughters alongside Montgomery Ward discovered May's manuscript 1991, and received publication in 1992. It was later renamed to "Rudolph to the Rescue" in 2006 to avoid confusion with this story.
