- Playing Against Type:
- Ally Walker tends to play bitches, jerkasses, racists, and pretty much any type of undesirable under the sun. Not that Sam isn't prone to bitchy behavior, of course, but still.
- Same for Robert Davi. Most of his career has been playing villains (including against James Bond in Licence to Kill) and morally grey characters. Davi said at the time that he really enjoyed getting to play a heroic character for once.
- Word of Saint Paul: During one of his earliest interviews for the show (while filming season 1) Robert Davi stated outright that Bailey Malone was "unquestionably" in love with Sam, and never changed his mind, right until the end of the show.
