Trivia / P.O.D.

Go To

The band:

  • Chart Displacement: "Alive" and "Youth of the Nation" are their top performers in the Hot 100 and the Alternative chart, but not the Mainstream one, where "Lost in Forever", released a decade after the band's heyday, managed a #3 spot ("Alive" got #4, "Youth" #6).
  • Fan Community Nicknames: "Warriors".
  • The Red Stapler: After Sonny Sandoval gave his newborn daughter the unusual name of "Nevaeh" ("heaven" spelled backwards), the name went from being unheard of to, as of 2007, becoming the 31st most popular name for baby girls in America, ahead of such stalwarts as Sara, Amanda and Vanessa.
  • What Could Have Been: According to "Alive" video director Francis Lawrence, he'd actually pitched the video's story of a guy in a slow-motion crash with his life flashing before him to a couple other bands over the years, who'd all turned it down. He said he was glad it went to P.O.D. in the end instead, since the story fit the song's theme much more.
  • Working Title: "Alive" was originally titled "Beautiful" early on (Not to be confused with the other "Beautiful" they'd pen eleven years later).
