  • Inspiration for the Work: Paul's Aunt Lil suggested that he should try writing a song in which the lyrics had nothing to do with love, which led him to write "Paperback Writer".
  • Missing Episode: The two-track session tapes for "Love Me Do" (both the "Ringo on drums" version and the "Andy White on drums" version), "P.S. I Love You", "She Loves You" and "I'll Get You" were junked once the mono master tapes were made as per standard Abbey Road procedure of the time, which means no true stereo mixes can ever be made for those songs. Furthermore, the mono master tape for the "Ringo on drums" version of "Love Me Do" was also junked, which meant that for years the only extant sources for that version were original British and Canadian first pressings of the single — the current master tape in EMI's archives had to be made from a first-pressing U.K. 45 single.
    • However, with the release of the Now and Then single in 2023, a true demixed stereo version of the "Ringo on drums" version has been released thanks to the use of Peter Jackson's AI system MAL. The same system was used in the released version of Now and Then to isolate John's vocal from the mono tape.
