Trivia / Once Upon A Time S6 E20: "The Song In Your Heart"

Go To

  • Actor-Inspired Element:
    • Jennifer Morrison pitched ideas for Emma's wedding dress, based off her own love of Grace Kelly's from 1956.
    • Colin O'Donaghue had a say in how Hook's wedding ring looked.
  • Enforced Method Acting: McKenna Grace wore headphones with Emma's theme playing in the opening scene to allow her to hum it properly.
  • The Other Darrin: Due to Pinocchio's original actor Jacob Davies looking too old to convincingly play him in the Enchanted Forest flashbacks, his brother Jack fills in the role.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: The wedding takes place on a rooftop due to weather conditions at the time of filming. The scene was filmed in a studio with Storybrooke blue-screened in the background.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The idea of a Musical Episode was first conceived in the third season, but was deemed too expensive at the time. Three years later, after more requests from fans, they went with it.
    • Emilie de Ravin turned down an offer to sing in this episode, as she was uncomfortable with her singing voice. As a result, Belle does not appear at all.
    • "The Queen Sings" and "Love Doesn't Stand a Chance" were originally just one song, but were split in two during development.
    • "A Happy Beginning" was originally titled "Once Upon a Time" and had the following lyric that was cut:
"Every fairy tale has a timeless trend/On the final page, there's a happy end."
