• What Could Have Been: Leading up to NXT No Mercy 2023, Mustafa Ali was supposed to challenge then-NXT North American Champion "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio for the title after defeating Dragon Lee in a match with Mysterio as the guest referee. Those plans were quickly thrown out the window on September 21, 2023, just a week before the match was supposed to take place, when several wrestlers were released, Ali among them. On September 26, Trick Williams won a fatal four-way to become Mysterio's new challenger, and defeated him for the title at the event.
