  • Follow the Leader: A Mystery Dungeon clone based on the Doraemon series was made in 2003 by Kan's and e-trek-Japan and published by Epoch Co. as Doraemon 3: Makai no Dungeon (lit. "Doraemon 3: Hell Dungeon").
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Mobile Suit Gundam Mystery Dungeon and Twinbee Dungeon were only released for the i-mode service in the early 2000's in Japan, predating most modern phone games. Due to their respective subscription services having been shut down in 2021, it's very likely that the games have been all but lost save for a few surviving screenshots. There have been concentrated efforts to rescue lost games originally hosted through i-mode, but these have yet been successful in recovering either of the lost Mystery Dungeon games.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": Young Yangus, the protagonist of the Japan-only Dragon Quest Characters: Young Yangus and the Mysterious Dungeon, is featured as a playable character in Fortune Street.
  • Sequel Gap: For the Mystery Dungeon franchise as a whole, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island is the first new Mystery Dungeon game since the release of Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 over 6 years prior in 2017, not counting ports or remakes. It is also the first new Mystery Dungeon title to be released in English since the original Etrian Mystery Dungeon in 2015.
  • What Could Have Been: It has since been revealed that Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon had a completed localization, with images of a beta cartridge surfacing on the internet. It is yet unknown why the localization was cancelled.
