Author's Saving Throw: The original version of Chapter 18 received a lot of backlash from the readership for it feeling like Mako guilt tripped Ryuko into participating in the Sports Festival as well as having Ryuko compete at all. The author took these complaints into account and rewrote the chapter accordingly, with the original being declared non-canon.
