  • Trini in the original pilot was played by Hispanic actress Audri DuBois but was replaced by Thuy Trang for the series proper. Audri claimed in a later interview that she left because she wasn't expecting to get the part and when she did, she wasn't ready to make the move to Los Angeles where filming took place (she lived in Arizona at the time). Upon leaving, her logic was that if the part came so easily like on Power Rangers, she'd find another job sooner than later. The fact that the fandom never found out about her until the airing of the Lost Episode seven years later shows how successful that was. ^note  The only trace left of Audri's Trini was in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in a toy commercial for the series. On the other hand, Walter Jones (Zack) claimed that it was over a pay dispute due to the now-infamous non-union status of the show.
  • Finster was voiced by Steve Kramer instead of Robert Axelrod in the original pilot, his only line being, "After ten-thousand years, its good to be free again!"
  • The lead punk who was retooled as Skull was played by former stuntman-turned-realtor Bobby F. Vavla instead of Jason Narvy. Vavla was brought into the Skull role for the next pilot when Paul Schrier (Bulk) was made the dominant one, but the big guy's performance was deemed too threatening for Skull's personality. Narvy was cast at the last minute shortly before principal photography began.
