• Distanced from Current Events: This episode was originally slated to air on the evening of March 30, 1981. However, earlier that day, President Ronald Reagan was nearly killed in an assassination attempt. Given the themes of the episode's A-plot (that Winchester was nearly killed by a sniper's bullet and becomes a Death Seeker to process the experience), Creator/CBS believed that the public might not be in the mood for it, and moved it back to May to become the Season 9 finale episode.
