Trivia / Marvel Legends

  • Cash-Cow Franchise: The Legends line is one of the most popular 6-inch action figure lines, usually coming out on top in terms of sales.
  • Dueling Works:
    • When it comes to movie figures, S.H.Figuarts. While they're in two different price ranges, they're not that different most of the time, and they're in the same scale.
    • For comic figures, MAFEX. The general consensus is that Legends has better face sculpts and character selection, but Mafex wins everything else. It's usually down to the price that people are willing to pay.
  • Late Export for You: Japan tends to get Legends figures months if not years behind the rest of the world.
  • Meme Acknowledgement: The prominence of the Bucky Cap mold and the fandom's feelings towards it were acknowledged by the Hasbro team when they revealed a new Bucky Cap to be part of the "Beyond Earth's Mightiest Heroes" subline.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: The Andrew Garfield Spider-Man figure released as part of the No Way Home wave is branded as Amazing Spider-Man 2. This is probably due to actor likeness rights for No Way Home specifically, since S.H.Figuarts ran into a similar issue when they had to cancel their unmasked head, whereas Hasbro included one in the ASM 2 branded figure.
  • Show Accuracy/Toy Accuracy: The movie figures tend to be based on concept art so that Hasbro has enough lead-in time to release the figures alongside the film. Because of this, if there are any changes late in production (which the MCU is infamous for), the figure will be inaccurate, such as Scarlet Witch's look from WandaVision being slightly tweaked. However, if Hasbro feels like saving money, there will also be inaccuracies even if a figure is released long after a film's release, such as the Spider-Man: No Way Home Tom Holland Spider-Man featuring his wrist pieces that he doesn't have in the final battle of the film, which all three Spidey figures were based on. This can also extend to just inaccurate colour choices as well.
