• Recycled Script: This episode was a reworking of one which Michael Landon had written years earlier for Bonanza, titled "It's a Small World" (a phrase used several times in the episode by titular character Lou Bates).
• You Look Familiar: The episode itself. Fans of Bonanza will remember a nearly identical story ^note a recently widowed circus midget forced to turn to crime after one of its influential business leaders shuns him from nearly 13 years earlier: "It's a Small World" (in fact, Lou actually utters this phrase several times during the episode!).
  • The script was recycled from one which Michael Landon had written years earlier for Bonanza, titled "It's a Small World" (a phrase uttered by Lou several times during the episode).
  • Guest star Billy Barty (Lou) had a bit part in the season 6 episode "Annabelle", where he also played a circus performer.
