• Follow the Leader: One of the numerous Jeopardy! clones that popped up in the early 90s. At least one contestant prefaced an answer with "what is", leading Scott to ask him if he remembered what show he was on.
  • The Decades Round also took heavy inspiration from Split Second, being a near-carbon copy of their Countdown Round.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Has not rerun since 2005.
• No Budget: Even by cable standards, the show was pretty cheap. The grand prize was a meager $500, and the Time Capsule prizes weren't exactly lavish either. To be fair, the game was never treated very seriously; everyone's laid-back attitude showed they knew what kind of show they were on.
