  • Follow the Leader: It was clearly made to cash in on the popularity of Need for Speed: Underground, much like Street Racing Syndicate. The second game's cover even features a brunette woman posing sexy, much like how the loading screen of Underground 2 features the game's Exposition Fairy Rachel (who also happens to be a brunette woman) posing sexy.
  • Saved from Development Hell: After the original publisher, Acclaim Entertainment, went defunct, Juice Games, who retained ownership of the property, sold the game to THQ, who funded the project for a further six months of improvements.
  • What Could Have Been: The game was originally going to be released in 2004 by Acclaim Entertainment, but before it could be released, Acclaim went defunct. It would be later picked up by THQ, who released it in 2005.
