• Inspiration for the Work: Writer/director Denys Arcand was inspired to make the movie when he went to see a Passion Play, starring an actor who had auditioned for one of his works, performed at St. Joseph's Oratory, a church in Montreal.
• Looping Lines: Martin is introduced while looping lines for a porno. Halfway through, he cries out that he's been reading the lines into the wrong microphone and he's told that it doesn't matter and that no one will notice.
