• Enforced Method Acting: Charlie Day's first time seeing the McPoyle clan was when they shot the scene to capture his genuine reaction.
• Throw It In!: The writers wrote an elaborate speech for Faizon Love, but Faizon apparently thought Sunny was more of an Improv show, a common belief at the time, and failed to memorize his lines. As a result, the speech he gives referring to "the New Kids on the Block movie" was improvised and used in place of the written one.
