  • Out-of-Genre Experience: Eddie Marsan had a meta example of this. He developed the character of Scott through working on his own with Mike Leigh, and because of Scott's racism, misogyny, paranoid conspiracy theories and rage issues, he assumed that the film was going to be a dark and intense drama. It was only when he started rehearsing with Sally Hawkins that he realised that the film was going to be a comedy.
