• What Could Have Been: While trying to figure out ways to bring a magic component into the episode, the writers considered having Stan be sent to a "paranormal jail", which houses other oddities from Gravity Falls.
  • Another idea was for Stan to get sent to jail and share a cell with Gideon, where they have to work together to break out.
  • An alternate version of the scene where Dipper and Mabel escape custody can be seen on the DVDs. Dipper and Mabel are locked in a school house and have to use Trembley's president's key to escape.
  • The original title for the episode was "Stan Returns", but it was changed due to being too much of a giveaway.
