- Accent Depundent: In Issue #12, McGraw makes a cheesy joke that depends on the words "saw" and "sore" being homophonous ("I sawed wood until I couldn't saw anymore, Ed. Now I'm just sore"). Anyone without a non-rhotic accent will be left scratching their head by this.
- Unexpected Character: Carrot in issue 13 due to Allison explicitly saying he wasn't going to use the character, and Desmond Fishman in the B-plot of the Winter Special due to him sticking out like a sore thumb in the far more grounded Giant Days milieu.
