• Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: Leonard Maltin's description for the film says that Ernest is given an intelligence-enhancing device to save the school from closure, which is not actually the plot. The school is in danger of closing and one of the regulations is that all employees (including Ernest, though he's a janitor) have to have high school diplomas, Gerta and Bobby figure out how to use their intelligence-enhancing device after Ernest starts his experiment, and it is done so Ernest can pass school and keep his job, not so the school will continue to be open and funded.
• What Could Have Been: '"Ernest Goes to School'' was originally planned for a wide theatrical release, as noted in a home video trailer as well as a short skit that appeared at the end of the previous film. Ultimately, though, it was only screened in two cities.
