• What Could Have Been: Like Stellaris Invicta, The Way of Worldbuilding saw The Templin Institute present their viewers three concepts for original speculative fiction universes for them to vote on. While the viewers picked the Orion Arm, a reboot of Dawn of Victory 2289, as the option they wanted to see fleshed out, the other options included:
  • The Taangali Wastes, a post-apocalyptic setting inspired by a mix of Mad Max and '80s pulp sci-fi and Heroic Fantasy movies, with an emphasis on Rule of Cool and explicitly supernatural elements starting to enter the picture thanks to the Great Offscreen War that destroyed the old world having weakened the boundaries of reality.
  • The World of Tyrrell, a Low Fantasy setting where elves and dwarves mastered magic and used it to rule the world with humanity seen as a "lower" race due to its lack of magical aptitude, until humanity embraced an Industrial Revolution that turned their nations into overnight great powers and brought the horrors of industrial warfare to the world, all while dark forces and monsters once thought vanquished exploited the resulting chaos to emerge from the shadows.
