Trivia / Cosmo Cat

Go To

  • Follow the Leader: In the 1940s, funny animal comics and superheroes were popular. This was Fox Features's attempt at cashing in on both.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Has not been reprinted since the 1960s. Since it's fallen into the public domain, a few comic book sites host scans of various issues. If you want to read a story that's NOT online, though, be prepared to sift through eBay (or your grandparents' old comic collection) to find them.
  • Missing Episode: As with many Golden Age comic series, not all of the issues have been found and digitized; none of the four series Cosmo appeared in are available online in their entirety. Of the ten issues of his own series, only the ninth is currently unavailable; unfortunately, that issue contains the conclusion of the six-part series "Horroface", the only time a story was spread across different issues.
  • Recycled Script: As blatant as you can get with Super Cat, used in Star Publications' anthology "Frisky Animals" in 1953, and Green Publishing's "Animal Crackers" in 1956. All they did was take old Cosmo Cat stories, recolor them, slightly change the logo on Cosmo's chest, and crudely change all instances of "Cosmo" to "Super". And even then, one of them failed to change most of "Cosmo"s.
