• Follow the Leader:
  • In general, the ongoing weekly series in Cimo's channel were largely inspired by the extremely influental Sealed Only Yugioh by Nyhmnim. The original Progression Series was essentially created as a series that highlights Nyhmnim's strength in content creation with the general weekly progression emulating the weekly updates of Sealed Only. At the time, Sealed Only Yugioh created a large wave of interest towards Sealed Yugioh play. Coincidentally, the second season of Sealed Only Yugioh faced an issue caused by the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic. Progression Series ended up filling the holes left by the lack of Nyhmnim's Sealed Only content, and the rest is history.
  • For History of Yugioh, Lithium2300 flagship series Cross-Banlist Cup have also been named as a base of inspiration.
  • After the smashing success of the Progression Series, many other Yugitubers would start their own series using similar premises. Such as MBT's Progression Playoff, which regularly pokes fun at itself for being a blatant rip-off. Nowadays the term "Progression Ripoff" is often used to describe such series.
  • Master Duel Masochist has begun to receive a similar treatment of other Yugitubers doing it as a stream challenge or users posting on Reddit about their own versions of the challenge.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Per word of Gage from a voice call with some friends, episode 77 of Progression Season 1 needed to be rerecorded at least twice. The first game had a heavy amount of misplays they agreed to redo it, and game two ended up with Cimo unintentionally cheating and needing to rerecord again.
  • Duelist Pack - Yugi was considered for Sealed Showdown, but they decided to skip it when they realized that it would make for very boring games of decking the opponent out with Marshmallon.
  • Another episode of the Auction Series was recorded for a birthday, but never released following the series going into hiatus.
