Trivia / Big Finish Doctor Who 020 "Loups-Garoux"

Go To

  • Troubled Production: This was the first Big Finish story to be recorded at the Moat Studios, which until then had primarily recorded rock music and was not best suited to audio drama. The production team had to acquaint themselves at short notice with unfamiliar equipment, and repeatedly had problems with a faulty microphone connection that kept distorting the actors' voices, with several unscheduled breaks whilst they unsuccessfully tried to trace the problem. Despite believing they had managed to work around the fault, when post-production work began the team discovered most of the dialogue was horribly distorted and unusable. It took a solid month of editing work to repair the audio; although it was not totally successful at eliminating all the distortion, in most places the problems are undetectable and the fact that the play was able to be released at all was a miracle. (Derek Wright, who played Jorge, also played the Magistrate in the opening scene, and his lines for the latter could not be salvaged at all, so director Nicholas Pegg re-recorded the lines himself.)
