• Amateur Cast: None of the actors had ever done a movie before.
• George Lucas Altered Version: There are numerous versions of the film. The original version is 94 minutes long, there's a European Cut that's 79 minutes long, and the streaming version available on Indie Nation Network is 76 minutes long. It isn't clear which cut is the official one, given Detective Perspex isn't in the latter two cuts but is in the sequel picking up from where his story left off.
• No Budget: The film was self-financed by the director, and it shows.
• What Could Have Been: The original plan for the film was to have two stories running concurrently, the one with Chester was to have alternated with one for Detective Perspex, but this was changed at the last minute for unknown reasons. Some elements were used for the sequel.
