  • Creator Breakdown: The author has often talked about "real life difficulties" slowing down getting out new chapters. This was most directly discussed after chapter 62 (Jon IX) was released, where they went into deeper details about how being a fanfiction fan had slowly eroded their life and hurt their faith life along the way (something very important to them). It got worse when there were relapses in the next few chapters, and the author "almost gave up writing" as a desperate way to quit the addiction cold turkey. They ended up postponing that decision when they realized this tvtropes page was created for their story.
  • Word of God: Sometimes, information is given through author's notes or comment replies.
    • Chapter 14 (Eddard I): the notes explain why Loras is featured in the Kingsguard earlier than in canon.
    • Chapter 22 (Cersei II), a somewhat Wham Episode, ends with a note warning the chapters 23-25 take place at the same time, right after the one the reader just finished. This warning is plot relevant later on.
    • Chapter 64 (Asha I): the author informs Victarion Greyjoy won't be featured, but hints that they have plans for Euron, yet to be revealed.
    • Chapter 69 (Aegon III/Ygritte III): Petyr Baelish's demise isn't given too much focus overall, but when a commenter brought up some of the issues that could come from it, Catelyn laid out what they saw as the chain of events that lead to his downfall:
      • After Jon & team's escape, a schism happened in the Vale over whether to support Lysa or those who were pro-Avatar. The balance of power was eventually tipped when Sweetrobin declared his support for the Avatar and anger at his mom trying to hurt his team.
      • Baelish's position in the capitol wasn't as secure as before as "Regent" Renly and the Tyrells were less hesitant to throw him out to expand their own power. And besides that, there was some legwork being done by lord Royce to bring The Vale back under his influence while Baelish was influencing the conflict between Stannis & Renly. When the time came, they called Baelish back to the Vale to help with Lysa's treason trial. And Littlefinger, not suspecting his lost power, walked right into an arrest for high treason in trying to kill The Avatar regardless of his parentage.
