Trivia / Avatar Aang: An Annotated Bibliography

• Outdated by Canon:
  • Aang and Katara having seven children. In canon they have three children- Bumi, Kya, and Tenzin.
  • The fic describes Aang having conversations with an Avatar several iterations of the cycle after him. Because Korra loses her connection to the past Avatars and restarts the Avatar cycle in her show's second season, this would be impossible in canon.
  • The lack of knowledge about the Gaang's adventures, when The Legend of Korra implies that for that most part the knowledge is at least available (given Jinora's mention of studying her grandmother's adventures). Though given that Korra takes place less than twenty years after Aang's death while several primary sources of information are still alive, while the Annotated Bibliography cites sources written by an Avatar seven cycles after Aang, it's possible by that point the sources would have become scarce or distorted.
  • While Toph dying of a mysterious illness at the age of fifty is tear jerking, Korra shows that not only is she still around, but she still is one of the greatest Earthbenders on the planet. In fact, she's the last member of the original main cast that we see onscreen in the series.
  • Zuko having more than one child, and being succeeded by a son. Korra has him succeeded by a daughter.
