• Descended Creator: Óscar Terol is one of the creators and writers of the series, and also stars in it as Antxón Oleaga.
• Follow the Leader: The show was accused of this since it premiered less than a year after the success of Spanish film Ocho apellidos vascos (The Spanish Affair in international markets), which had similar culture clash leitmotiv (in this case, it was an Andalusian guy falling for a Basque girl and heading to Euskadi for her). Word of God has it the creators actually drew inspiration from French film Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis, and that the idea of the series predates Ocho apellidos, but it was only after the film was a success that Antena 3 decided to greenlight it.
• Friday Night Death Slot: Antena 3 tried to defy it by placing the series' second season on Fridays because it trusted the show to go up against Telecinco's long-running gossip talk show Sálvame Deluxe. It held its own at first, but after several weeks of falling ratings, the channel reversed its decision and placed the series back in its original Tuesday night timeslot for the remainder of the season. Then it switched to Monday nights for season 3.
• Production Posse: Several of the Basque actors had already worked together as part of the cast of famed ETB^note Abbreviation of "Euskal Telebista", the Basque Country's regional public television, which actually gets a Shout-Out on the first episode of the series comedy show Vaya semanita.
