- Grayer's Dad comes home for the first time. At first you think it's a Heartwarming Moment, as Grayer rushes to his Dad and gets showered with affection. For a minute. Then he sets his son down, tells the new nanny to keep him quiet and closes his office's door, ignoring his son's pleas for just one more minute. Annie's face says it all.
- Grayer listening to his parents shouting as Annie tucks him in. And in a very small, quiet voice, he tell the nanny he's known for a few weeks: I love you best.
- One of the saddest scenes in the movie comes near the end, when Annie is fired. As she's leaving, Grayer starts running after the car, sobbing and begging her not to leave him.
