Tear Jerker / Silenced

• The scene after Min-su commits suicide. Everyone who was protesting about the light punishment of the Lee twins gets hosed by the police. During the chaos In-ho holds up a framed picture of Min-su and brokenly says "This child's name is Min-su...he cannot hear or even speak." It's heartbreaking because he keeps getting knocked over by the hose but he keeps getting back up.
  • In-ho's Rage Breaking Point after Headmaster Lee's lawyer makes a vague threat towards In-ho's daughter. It's the first time in the film where we see In-ho overcome by despair, and hearing Gong Yoo's cries of anguish as he repeatedly punches a window until it breaks only adds to the intensity.
  • Minsu's reaction when In-ho informs him that Minsu's grandmother lifted the charges placed against Park Bo-hyun. The poor kid is barely holding it together as he questions why the man responsible for the death of his brother is getting away with what he did. It gets worse when he angrily calls In-ho out on failing to keep his promise that Park Bo-hyun would pay. All before Minsu breaks down completely until he's sobbing into In-ho's arms, who can do nothing but apologize over and over again for his failure. Minsu's actor did an especially amazing job at conveying how much he's struggling to sign.
    • The fact that Minsu was denied his chance at justice when he arguably suffered worse than Yeon-doo and Yu-ri under a man just as depraved than the Headmaster...
