Tear Jerker / Ship War AU

  • Star, after having irreversably screwed up, is told by her mother to stay home while she and the Magic High Commission along with Elizabeth and Jam go to confront Ludo. Then Marco heads home with Jackie to work out some issues, leaving her alone and feeling absolutely worthless.
Star: I'm the most useless princess ever.
  • Elizabeth visibly tears up at the thought of having to fight a Toffee-possessed Moon.
    Elizabeth: I'm sorry, Grandma.
  • Page 48: Star, still upset, sees the portal open up and expects good news… only to find Elizabeth in tears and Jam lugging the unconscious Magic High Commission through. Then Elizabeth tells her what happened, and the two hug and cry it out, with Jam sitting nearby.
  • Toffee's backstory. He was a member of an elite clan of monster mercenaries who joined the Mewmans during a Mewman-Monster war in the hopes that they would become a part of Mewman society. Instead, after they did their job, Queen Rose the Madder wiped almost all of them out. Really puts a new spin on the character's motives.
  • On page 58, we find out that being a Half-Human Hybrid has caused Elizabeth some problems. Namely, her cheek marks started fading as she grew older (Star electing to cover them with makeup so the people of Mewni don't panic) and she learned from Baby (in a rather blunt manner) that she may never be able to cast spells without the wand or go through Mewberty. Ouch.
  • The commission, or at least Omni and Hekapoo very clearly do not like having to lie about their involvement in everything just so their father can learn more about magic.
  • On page 75, we learn that Eclipsa replaced one of her eyes with the All-Seeing Eye spell right before she was caught… which allowed her to see what happened with her husband and daughter while she was helpless to stop it.
  • On page 76, Eclipsa takes control of Jackie's body in an attempt to steal the wand back, and when Jackie tries to reason with her, Eclipsa's response hints that she doesn't really want to do this, but she doesn't feel like she has any other options.
  • When Jackie is pulled inside the wand, she wakes up in what looks like her own bed. She wonders whats happening...up until she sees her mother. The girls eyes start to tear up at the site of her in a way that infers where Mrs Thomas is in the real world.
