Tear Jerker / Jason X

• Earth by 2455 is now utterly dead, ruined beyond any recovery. Humanity can never go back to its cradle.
• While one of the goofier sequels, Jason's whole situation is depressing if you really think of it. The camp he devoted his undead life to guarding is long gone, he's been captured by the government to be executed (and later exploited) and then he wakes up 445 years later to find he's still surrounded by the kind of thoughtless young people he hates so much. After everything he's been through, Jason never found peace, reduced to an undying shell of his former self with no traces of Mrs. Voorhees' little boy left.
• The fact that Jason's first kill on the spaceship is Adrienne, a young woman who seemed perfectly nice and actually expressed sympathy towards Jason for his deformity, rather than being grossed out or afraid of it. Sure, a lot of his victims are jerks or morons, but Adrienne wasn't!
• The last four non-Jason deaths all have some weight to them and warrant some In-Universe and out of universe mourning. Two are Heroic Sacrifices by selfless characters. One of them is the result of panicky foolishness at the end of a Break the Cutie arc where the character just looks so scared and miserable. And one sees a character die after multiple Hope Spots, one of which causes her to say "Let's go home" in a way that emphasizes how she is just a kid on a field trip caught in a terrifying situation.
