Spoilers Ahead

  • "Soulmate" features a player forming a real bond with a female NPC. After the adventure, she tells him she'll never forget him... then slips into Idle Mode, robotically repeating the same thing. The look on the player's face is devastating.
  • "Quest Greg" features a companion NPC who, returning from a quest, sees the original Greg at the starting point and realizes he's just a copy, at which point he desperately tries to entice the player to go on another adventure and even flat-out begs the player not to complete this quest. When the player does, Quest!Greg slowly fades away while Original!Greg can only offer empty words of comfort. The really sad part is the coda; after Quest!Greg is gone, Original!Greg is on the verge of tears, but sees another player coming along and has to suck it up and do his job. If you listen carefully you'll notice Greg almost doesn't get his mask back on in time.
  • "Troll" features a troll named Snuggles that everyone runs from in fear. Despite his outward appearance, he's a gentle spirit who just wants to give people flowers and hugs. After befriending Greg, he gets brutally murdered right in front of him via sword through the back.
  • "Completing a horrifying quest - Puppies" features a player finding that he can't abandon the side-quest, or even go back to his last save-point when he confuses the quest giver's pets for the mobs he needs to slay.
    • To clarify, it turns out he didn't even need to kill the puppies, nor was he supposed to. He was actually supposed to kill the spiders in the house, which were the actual vermin he was tasked with killing. If only he had looked around the house and spotted the clearly-visible spiders in the background here and there, he could have realized what he was supposed to do and kill the spiders.
  • "Greg's Wife" has a patch introduce Greg's titular wife. Although confused at first, he soon finds he's much happier with her, and they even have a child. Then his family glitches out in front of him as they are patched out (specifically because Greg was too happy), with only her "painting" of Greg as evidence she ever existed. While the patch notes say they removed Greg's memory of her, but others may remember her, the opposite is true and Greg is the only one who remembers her.
