  • In December 2009, AMW featured a story, as told by an elderly southern police investigator. The story was of this trailer trash couple that would adopt infants and toddlers from Mexico, then keep them in cribs, locked in a shed in their back yard, and have their biological teenage daughter care for them. One day, when one of the babies wouldn't stop crying, the daughter panicked from the stress and pressure she was under, and accidentally shoved the baby into the side of its crib, injuring it severely. The couple rushed the infant to the hospital, and came up with a story that it fell out of a buggy at the store, but the story didn't check out with the infant's injuries upon observation; they sold out their daughter, who was taken to jail, while the police investigated and found the other infants in the shed and rescued them. While in custody, the daughter told the police of her parents' activities, but when they went back for them, they had fled.

The pitiful little kids were taken some place where they could be fed, cleaned up, and checked up, but one little boy in particular latched onto the aforementioned investigator; in fact, when he and his wife later visited the children to check up on how they were doing (much better, in fact), the boy ran over to embrace them. Even though they were an elderly couple, and their kids had been grown for sometime, they both felt in their hearts the Lord speaking to them, and in the end, they adopted the boy who so touched their hearts. The other children managed to find new homes for themselves as well.
  • The tragic reason for why John Walsh wanted to start the show: his young son was abducted and murdered, and he wanted to make it so other parents wouldn't have to suffer the same fate. While a lot of good has come from the show and his work, its still sad to know that his son never got a chance to grow up.
