100 Days My Prince (2018) is a Korean Drama. It aired on the TV channel tvN (in Korea) and is available to stream on Netflix (internationally). It focuses on a fictionalized version of the Joseon Dynasty.

The young Lee Yool (DoKyungsoo) lived well, as nephew of the king. Until an overnight coup d'etat from his father results in the loss of his mother and childhood sweetheart.Frustrated and bitter; the now Crown Prince Yool makes enemies within the palace until an assassination attempt has him lose his memory. Taken in by a woman known as Hongshim (Unbeknownst to him, his childhood love), he suddenly finds himself as Wondeok aka her husband.

As for Hongshim aka Yiseo, she never wanted to get married; but the prince's orders of "any bachelor/bachelorette over 20 must get married no matter what" means she had to find a way to avoid punishment and she did. But it's only a matter of time before the prince regains his memories, to say nothing of his enemies looking to ensure he stays dead....

100 Days My Prince provide examples of:

  • The Coup: Prince Seonjeong, Yool's father initiates one in episode 1; resulting in the deaths of the previous king, Yool's mother, Yiseo's father and countless others.
  • Old Maid: By the start of the show post-time skip, Yiseo is 28 years old and her province's oldest bachelorette. That said, she's perfectly content with not marrying; to the exasperation of the local minister and elders.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Yool proclaims he hasn't smiled once since the day of his coronation as Crown Prince; given how he got his crown, it's hard to blame him.
