You're getting warmer to describe Hot and Cold here... warmer... cold! Warmer... warmer... warmer... HOT! HOT!

Hot and Cold is a Parlor Game where somebody (the hider) hides an object and gets someone else (the seeker) to find it.

The hider will tell the seeker if they're closer (warmer) or farther (colder) to the object. If the seeker is extremely close to the object, the hider will tell them they're hot. If the seeker is far away from the object, the hider will tell them that they're cold (or freezing if they're extremely far off).

Has nothing to do with Tsundere.

  • The Simpsons: In "Moaning Lisa", Homer is looking for his keys in the morning. Bart watches him while eating breakfast, saying "warm... now cold... colder... ice cold." Homer thinks he's directing him to where the keys are, but Bart's actually just referring to his breakfast getting cold.
  • In the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Big Pink Loser", SpongeBob uses this game to get Patrick to take off the lid of the pickle jar.
    • Used again in the episode "A Friendly Game" that is later parodied when Patrick is revealed to be in the shower, with his shouts of "HOT!" and "COLD!" referring to the temperature of the shower.
