Olga and Halil go to the jungle area and battle Michio, who has partnered up with a fisherman duelist, Teppei. Yuzu finds Dennis in the volcano area and the two battle, with Dennis winning. In the aftermath, Serena confronts them.
In the ruins area, Yuya finds Kurosaki, but before the two can talk about Yuto, the Knights of Duels intervene, attacking each other to try and force them to duel. They're in turn interrupted by the return of Sora, who has brought Academia's elite troops, Obelisk Force, with him. Obelisk Force defeat and turn the Knights into cards while Sora pursues Kurosaki, demanding a rematch. Yuya watches Obelisk Force card the Knights and Yuto's memories surge inside him, pushing him into Berserk Mode.
This episode contains example of:
- Asshole Victim: The Knights of Duels. They use a loophole to have their monsters attack other players while technically dueling between them, and inviting their victims to join, fully knowing that they would start with half their life points should they accept. Still, getting their souls trap into cards is an excessive punishment.
- Borrowed Catch Phrase: Yoko uses Shuzo's and Futoshi's Chase Phrases while cheering for Yuzu and Michio, much to their dismay.
- Despair Event Horizon: After seeing the Knights of Duel being carded and seeing Yuto's memories on Fusion's invasion on Xyz, Yuya breaks and go to Berserk Mode.
