A remark from Sam leads Gretchen to invite Jimmy to her apartment. To his horror, he finds that her apartment is a disgusting mess, making him question their compatibility.
Meanwhile, Edgar struggles with people's apathy to his PTSD. An apparently sympathetic veteran turns out to be an actor wanting to study Edgar for his newest role.
Lindsay has her jaw wired shut to lose the weight she gained after marrying Paul, but Shitstain and Honey Nutz wonder why Paul would want her to lose her best assets. Later, Edgar and Lindsay meet when Lindsay arrives at Jimmy's, looking for Gretchen. Edgar and Lindsay go to a diner where Edgar removes the wires and they share a meal.
Jimmy wants to go back to his own house but does not want to be seen as walking out; Gretchen would like him to leave but does not want him to think she is throwing him out. He leaves after they have a brief argument and Gretchen is happy to be alone in her own space again, but eventually goes to Jimmy's house anyway. Later, Edgar and Jimmy see a TV show where the actor appears as a disturbed veteran running amok. Edgar is not happy.
