New X-Men Vol. 2 #45 is Chapter Eight of Thirteen in the Messiah Complex event. It was written by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle, pencilled by Humberto Ramos, inked by Carlos Cuevas, colored by Edgar Delgado, lettered by Dave Sharpe and edited by Nick Lowe. It has a cover date of February 2008.

In the aftermath of the events of the last issue, the X-Force fight duke it out against the Reavers les by Lady Deathstrike as the X-Men prepare for take off.


Tropes:

  • Badass Boast: After Wolverine leaves Lady Deathstrike to her, X-23 has some words for her new opponent.
    Laura Kinney/X-23: You call yourself Deathstrike. Show me.
  • Big Damn Heroes: As Cable is cornered by the Reavers, the X-Force arrive and engage them.
