The Trollzopolis Dayz Faire commences with a bang, but while the girls are getting ready, Simon uses a powerful burst of magic to make Trollzopolis exactly as it was in the Middle Ages, and he plans to ensure it stays that way. Simon sends Snarf and a band of ogres to capture the girls while he reigns as king. The situation's made worse by the fact that everyone who was outside when the spell was cast, including Coal, Rock, and Flint, thinks life was always this way—and that girls are useless wenches while boys are superior in every way.

The BFFL aren't pleased at all by the turn of events, and soon the whole town is after them. While they manage to escape the stocks, there's still the matter of breaking into Simon's castle. When the girls go to find Obsidian at what looks like the mall, they find Snarf and his ogres instead, who seal off the marketplace and chase them around town. Ruby uses a spell to see where the Ancients are and finds they've all been captured. Sapphire tricks the ogres into rigging up a makeshift rollercoaster to launch their way into the castle... and they go too far, sailing through both windows and out the other side, landing in a swamp. To make matters worse, Simon plans to drain the Ancients of their magic once the town's stasis is complete.
