After getting a mysterious threat message from the leader of Team Flare, Augustine begins to suspect that there's a darker motive behind Sandre's Pact with him. But between their meeting with other Players and clearing the Mission, a lone Reaper plans to sow the seeds of discord into his troubled heart.
This arc provides examples of:
- Cliffhanger: The Day ends with Augustine accepting Dezz's offer to leave the game and is about to electrocute Lysandre.
- Properly Paranoid: Augustine spends almost the Day suspecting that Sandre is Lysandre. Dezz eventually confirms that he really is what he thinks he is.
- Shout-Out:
- Leo uses Jonathan Joestar's family secret technique against the Noise: RUN AWAY!
- Turns out Ronald is a fan of the Fairly Oddparents. He even spouts out one of the quotes from the show on Day 3.
- Two Lines, No Waiting: There is a small subplot involving several trainers such as Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno trying to cope with their mentor's death as part of the players' mission to clear out the Noise. It isn't until after the mission where we learn which mentor died...
- Wham Episode: There is a lot starting from Sandre revealing to be Lysandre to Augustine lost his memories as a Pokemon Professor.
- Wham Line:Dezz: That is your true identity, Augustine Sycamore. Or should I call you "Professor Sycamore"?
