Recap / The Loud House S 719 Beg Borrow And Steele There Will Be Mud

Go To

Beg, Borrow, and Steele

Lincoln borrows money from Lola to obtain a rare David Steele blind box collectable

  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Lincoln's unrestrained loan-taking and expenditure on random (and often worthless) pulls eerily mirrors the behavior of a gambling addict.
  • All-Devouring Black Hole Loan Sharks: Lola puts Lincoln on a loan contract that he has zero hope of repaying, and extorts unreasonable labor from him while increasing his tab with every (understandable) mistake he makes.
  • Jerkass Ball: The sisters to a minor degree, given the episode's early-season style.
  • Nice Girl: With Lincoln being unaware of the value of the defective figurine, Kara could have very easily conned him, but she informs him of its value and buys off him for a fair price.
  • Surprisingly Happy Ending: At the end it looks like Lincoln will have to sell the David Steele figure he worked so hard for (alongside the rest of his collectables) for pocket change and have a long road of repayment ahead, but the factory error he pulled ended up being worth a lot of money, allowing Lincoln to be debt-free and happy by the end.
  • Worthless Yellow Rocks: Zig-Zagged - The factory error figure that Lincoln receives as one of his pulls from the David Steele mystery boxes. Lincoln assumes it is worthless, and is willing to take the paltry $12 for the rest of his collection. But Kara recognizes it as the "stuff of legends" in the David Steele fandom and is willing to pay Lincoln a hefty sum for it - exactly what he needs to pay his sisters back.

There Will Be Mud

Liam and his meemaw strike oil and move to a fancy neighborhood with their newfound wealth. But when they struggle to fit in with the locals, they turn to the McBrides for advice.

  • Continuity Nod: In "Save Royal Woods", Lisa mentions that Royal Woods sits on top of a major oil deposit.
