Chapter 18: The Art of War

Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:

  • Mythology Gag: The chapter starts with the line "[t]oday's lesson was all about attack", something Gobber says at the start of training day against Stormfly in the first movie.
  • Psychoactive Powers: Whenever Pedro draws something into existence, it looks like its made from golden light and stylistically goofy. When he's asked to use a drawn sword to attack a dummy, they all actively avoid it, Pedro reluctant to use his gift to hurt people. When Drago forces him to "kill" a test dummy with a sword, the sword he draws manifests as a black sword that melts into an Ominous Obsidian Ooze that tears the dummy to pieces with barbed tentacles.
  • Rolling Attack: It's here that Karla learns the combat-applications to her gift in the form of a Spin Dash.
