Cousin Melancholia, heartbroken after Fred, her fiancé, leaves her, visits the Addams family. Meanwhile, the firm of Ferguson-Riche and Fisher send Mr. Harvey to broker a deal with Gomez since he's the only one who's dealt with him before. When the Addamses remember that Mr. Harvey is a bachelor, they're very eager to have him come by.

Melancholia: I got there, but Elmer didn't. He just ran off. - Would Rather Suffer: Mr. Harvey's boss tries to send him to talk business with Gomez, saying that he's ideally suited because he's met the family before. The lawyer says he'd rather interact with a scorpion nest.
