Airdate: Monday, April 22, 2002

Sender: Phylo D

Instead of being in his computer room, Strong Bad is currently hanging with Pom Pom at the Stick. After finishing up a story, Strong Bad decides that it's time to check his e-mail. Thankfully, Pom Pom lends Strong Bad his "Pom Pilot" for the occasion.

Strong Bad: (half-heartedly singing, using the stylus to bring up an email) Checkin' my email... Here at the Stick... That's pretty cool...

Phylo D wants to know if it's hard to flip someone off while wearing boxing gloves. Strong Bad explains that it's not, and shows off some of his favorite ways to flip people off: traditional, behind the back, around the world, and Strong Bad's personal favorite, "the double deuce" (Pom Pom, by contrast, prefers the single deuce). But all this bird-flippery bites Strong Bad in the butt when he tries to flip off Homestar, and Homestar unwittingly returns the favor.

Strong Bad: That wasn't funny, man! That'll hurt a guy's feelings! (glumly) Okay, so until next week, send me your e-mail! I will more than likely flip you off.
(The Paper comes down.)

Tropes:

  • Comically Missing the Point: Two examples in one scene! When Strong Bad flips off Homestar, Homestar thinks he's waving and cheerfully says "Right back at you, Strong Bad!" This causes Strong Bad to believe that Homestar flipped him off.
  • Flipping the Bird: This e-mail is all about the many ways one can flip the bird. Even without fingers, or even hands.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Despite Strong Bad having gleefully repeatedly flipped off Phylo, the second Homestar flips him off, he gets bummed out.
  • Orphaned Punchline: The email opens with Strong Bad talking with Pom Pom at the Stick, and we hear a bit of out-of-context conversation.
Strong Bad: So I was like, "Well, you think you're so hot, but me hot, me hot!"
  • Take Our Word for It: This email gets a ton of mileage out of having characters with no fingers flipping each other off.

(Pom Pom briefly peeks out from under the Paper)
